Born in Tokyo, Taku Bannai is an illustrator whose work centers on collage art, spanning advertising, books, magazines, and jacket artwork. His major projects include visuals for a Volkswagen advertisement, BGM by the theater company Lolo, the film Honey Boy, Coca-Cola’s Ayataka Café, and the CM song BLUE SOULS for Pocari Sweat. With a lyrical perspective on everyday scenery and a minimalist style that intentionally preserves negative space, his works leave room for the viewer’s imagination, allowing many different stories to unfold.
